Central bank sees no signs of upcoming Visa, Mastercard cutoff
MOSCOW, Apr 14 (PRIME) – There is no risk of Russia's disconnection from the international payment systems because it would be harmful for them, First Deputy Central Bank Chairwoman Olga Skorobogatova said on Wednesday.
"Speaking about the current situation, it is quite calm, I would say, we see no risks of disconnection from the international payment systems, and I think it is very bad for the international payment systems themselves," Skorobogatova said.
The official added that Russia is successfully developing its own payment system Mir and has to continue this work while keeping the Russian infrastructure providers competitive.
